Billing

I offer a fixed-rate for the following uncontested services:

Uncontested Divorce (without children):
$1,500.00

Uncontested Divorce (with children):
$1,900.00

*If unexpected our unusual circumstances arise, which result in extra time spent completing the above services, I charge for my time spent at my hourly rate of $300.00 per hour.

If you wish to retain me to represent you for a matter that does not have a fixed rate, my hourly rate is $300.00 per hour. Retainers are typically taken, but can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

All fees, both hourly and fixed-rate, are subject to GST and Disbursements. 

Unbundled Legal services

Many individuals find themselves self-represented for at least a portion of their family law proceedings. The legal system can be daunting, and fully retaining a lawyer to handle your family matter is not always an option. I am sensitive to these issues and offer unbundled legal services.

Limited Scope Retainers

Limited Scope retainers allow you to tailor the scope of the retainer agreement, having full control of what particular elements of your family law matter that you would like me to handle, such as: attending court, mediation, arbitration, or negotiation; advice on preparing documents; and corresponding with opposing counsel. The exact scope of the services is fully discussed and agreed upon. If circumstances change, the scope of the services can be increased or decreased upon further discussion and agreement.

Legal Coaching

Legal coaching is where an individual hires a lawyer to help them with a particular element of their file. Legal coaching allows you to consult a lawyer as you need one, and pay as you go. Legal coaching is a more unbundled version of a limited scope retainer. The scope of services offered under legal coaching can be expanded through a limited scope retainer or full retainer.
